<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image coding/decoding device and method for reducing arithmetic operations, while maintaining coding efficiency that is equivalent to that of a non-separating type filter. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image coding device is provided with: a signal processing unit for generating a locally decoded image corresponding to an input image; a filter designing unit for designing a filter corresponding to the input image; a filter processing unit for performing filter processing to a locally decoded image by the designed filter; a frame memory for storing the image to which the filter processing has been performed; a prediction unit for generating a prediction image by using the stored image; and a variable length coding unit for outputting information related with the filter as coded data. The filter processing unit performs filter processing by convolution arithmetic operations, by using only the pixels positioned on a straight line, in each of the horizontal direction, vertical direction and oblique 45 degree direction passing through the filter processing object pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
