<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element having superior antireflection characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element is equipped with a base body and multiple structures, arranged on a surface of the base body. The structures are conical recesses or projections. The structures are arranged at a pitch that is less than or equal to the wavelength band of light, in a usage environment and lower parts of adjacent structures are connected with each other. Effective refractive index, with respect to a depth direction of the structures increases gradually, as going toward the base body and describes an S-shaped curve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
