<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress luminance non-uniformity caused by non-uniform thickness of a liquid crystal layer (non-uniform gap) of a liquid crystal display element. <P>SOLUTION: Temperature sensors (44R, 44B, 44G) detect a transparent electrode temperature and a light reflection electrode temperature of reflection type liquid crystal display elements (22R, 22B, 22G), and report the result to a strain detection part (46). The strain detection part (46) detects the strain and calculates a strain amount from the reported temperatures. A non-uniformity correction part (40) applies correction, according to the strain amount calculated by the strain detection part (46), to image data from an image processing part (38), for each strain equal to a predetermined level or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
