PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for simplifying a kneading process, which has excellent processability and dynamic characteristics, and to provide a filler for rubber. SOLUTION: A filler composition includes a silica-based filler, a silane-coupling agent, a hydroxyacid and/or a salt of the hydroxyacid. The filler is obtained by reacting the filler composition. The rubber composition includes the filler. A cross-linked material of the rubber composition is also provided. Alternatively, a composition contains diene-base rubber, silica, a silane coupling agent, a hydroxyacid and/or a salt of the hydroxyacid, and a cross-linked material of the composition is also provided.
