LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device suppressing occurrence of faulty display caused by an influence of potential of a shield electrode.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 is provided with: a substrate 1; a pixel selecting thin film transistor 16 formed on the substrate 1 side; a pixel electrode 19 and a common electrode 21 formed above the thin film transistor 16 on the substrate 1 side; a substrate 2 provided through a liquid crystal layer 36 above the pixel electrode 19 and the common electrode 21; the shield electrode 31 provided on a surface of the substrate 2; and a thin film transistor 6 provided between the shield electrode 31 and a common potential wiring 7 supplying common potential (COM) and functioning as a diode which gets in an on-state by potential larger than the predetermined potential (10V).
