<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pager transceiver which saves a memory in a paging receiver and efficiently transmits information. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A paging transceiver (100) and selective paging method performs paging to a paging transceiver (100) but does not automatically provide an associated message. When receiving the paging, the paging transceiver (100) alerts a user that information is in a waiting state and provides an identifier for the information. The user can then download or otherwise act on the information at a time and at a place convenient to the user.
