APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING RESOURCES USING COODBOOK IN A BORADBAND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for allocating resources by using a codebook in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to minimize the overhead resulting from resource allocation information by using the resource allocation information generated based on a codebook. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(1520) confirms a burst size set and an MCS(Modulation and Coding Scheme) level set for creating a code book. The control unit creates a codebook by using the MCS level set and the burst size set. A message generator(1518) and a message interpreter(1516) creates and analyzes the resource allocation information according to the codebook. The control unit uses the MCS level set and the burst size set to calculate the requested resource size of the combinations, then writes out a codebook indicating the combinations.
