CATHODE ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PURPOSE: A cathode active material and a secondary lithium battery including the same are provided to maintain the performance of the battery and to improve rate property and thermal stability when the cathode active material is introduced to the secondary lithium battery. CONSTITUTION: A cathode active material is comprised of lithium nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide which is marked as a chemical formula of Li_xM_yO_2. An ion conductive solid compound and conductive carbon are coated on the surface of the lithium nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide. The lithium nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide is a particle has an aggregated structure which is comprised of fine particles.
