PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start signal recording with the optimum timing after the signal recorder is mounted on an object to be measured, while reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: A CPU 15 of a data recorder 10 becomes ready for receiving an input of an optical signal, that is standby, when it receives an instruction to start recording from a computer 50 via an interface 17. The CPU 15 starts recording the signal input either to an amplifier 11 or 12 or a photodetector 14, when it detects that the optical signal is input to the photodetector 14.
