摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy clad material in which the thickness of a magnesium alloy core layer accounts for the majority of the thickness of the whole clad material and the magnesium alloy core layer has a basal crystalline texture without making the crystal particle size larger and the strength lower so that the clad material has both of excellent processability and strength, and to provide a method for manufacturing the magnesium alloy clad material. SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy clad material has the core layer consisting of a magnesium alloy having a hexagonal closest-packed (hcp) structure as the crystal structure thereof and a clad layer consisting of another metal cladded on one or both surfaces of the core layer. The thickness of the core layer is made thicker than 50% of the thickness of the clad material. The magnesium alloy contains ≥4.5 mass% aluminum. The magnesium alloy core layer has the basal crystalline texture that an angle formed by the c-axis of the crystal structure of the magnesium alloy and a normal line on the surface of the core layer is <5°.
