<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat knitting frame for knitting a tubular knit fabric having inconspicuous boundary part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Knitting width is decreased by knocking over a loop from knitting needles 13, 14 and transferring to a mouth part 18 and, accordingly, an old loop 25 from an end knitting needle 13 of the knitting width is formed in a form shrunk to a position deviated from a new loop 21 toward the inside of the knitting width. When position of an expanding member 15 is set to the position of the old loop 25, the tip end of the expanding member 15 can be protruded to the mouth part 18 and introduced into the old loop 25. When the tip form of the expanding member 15 has a tapered form having a totally thin diameter with small diameter change, it is easily introduced into the old loop 25 to slowly expand the loop 25. Even in the case of reversing the feeding direction of a knitting yarn 20 and decreasing the size of the last new loop 21, the loop can be expanded with the expanding member 15 to recover the loop size after transferring the new loop, subsequent to a revolution knitting, to the mouth part 18 as the old loop 25.
