<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device of a circular workpiece, which efficiently holds the workpiece while having a simplified structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The holding device 10 is equipped with: four finger rods 20; a guide plate 21 for guiding in expanding and contracting the holding diameter of the finger rods 20; a first guide part 22 of four diagonal grooves which is diagonally formed on the guide plate 21 to guide the finger rods 20 in the diagonal direction; a pair of second guide parts 23 for guiding the finger rods 20 at the angle crossing the first guide part 22; a pair of movable members 24 for moving the second guide parts 23; and a pair of air cylinders 25 for linearly moving the movable members 24. The second guide parts 23 is inclined at 45° with respect to the moving direction (A) of the movable members 24, and a moving amount of the finger rods 20 is made larger than that of the movable members 24.
