Monoclonal anti alpha-D (ITGAD) antibodies for use in the treatment of inflammation

Methods to inhibit inflammation and macrophage infiltration following spinal cord injury are disclosed along with methods to modulate TNF-alpha release from cells expressing alpha-d. Anti-alpha-d monoclonal antibodies are used to block binding between alpha-d and VCAM-1. Hybridoma secreting the antibodies are disclosed, as well as diagnostic methods using the antibodies.
