<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator capable of efficiently generating a good quality hydrogen-enriched reformed gas, in which carbon monoxide is sufficiently reduced, responding to increasing and decreasing of the power generation amount of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen generator 100a is provided with: a reforming section 1 for generating the reformed gas containing hydrogen from a feed material containing an organic compound comprising at least carbon and hydrogen and water; a heating section 5 for heating the reforming section 1 to a temperature required for generating the reformed gas; a carbon monoxide reducing sections 7, 11 each having a carbon monoxide reducing catalyst for reducing carbon monoxide contained in the reformed gas generated in the reforming section 1; and temperature detectors 10, 14 for detecting at least one of a temperature of the reformed gas in the carbon monoxide reducing section and a temperature of the carbon monoxide reducing catalyst. In the hydrogen generator 100a, an increase of the amount of the feed material to be supplied to the reforming section 1 is controlled based on a comparison between a detected temperature detected by the temperature detector and a reference temperature set in accordance with the amount of the feed material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
