<p>Predicting the movement dynamic of a drill where the coefficient of friction for the sliding contact between the borehole and the drillstring is a varying function. The torque friction may vary according to the nature of the well sides as well as being a dynamic function of the motion of the drill in stick-slip oscillation cycles. The model may be adjusted for real-time in-service updates of paramaters in the hole or from another test rig. The calculations in the model may be adjusted for different drillstring penetration advance rates, rotational speed or revolutions, mean cross sectional area and radius in order to assess whether stable movement, or chaotic-oscillatory changes in turning speed will result.</p> |
