PURPOSE: A method for updating phonebook and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to automatically update the phonebook number even if a user dose not directly change or store the phone number, thereby providing a convenience. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication unit(110) receives a voice signal and phone number information. A storage unit matches a voice pattern to a phone number and store the pattern. A control unit extracts a voice pattern of a voice signal received through the wireless communication unit and compares the voice pattern with a voice pattern stored in the storage unit. If the voice pattern is stored in the storage unit, the control unit compares a phonebook number matched to the voice pattern with the received phonebook number. If the stored phone number is not coincide with the receiving phone number which is received through a call, the control unit changes the stored phone number as the received phone number. |
