PURPOSE: A motor for an environment-friendly vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to secure high efficiency and stable output at a high speed by securing a wide constant output region. CONSTITUTION: A motor for an environment-friendly vehicle includes a demagnetizing coil(70). The demagnetizing coil is wound around each core groove(110) of a rotor core(100). If the permanent magnet of a rotor has an N polarity, the demagnetizing coil is wound counter clock-wise. If the permanent magnet of the rotor has an S polarity, the demagnetizing coil is wound clock-wise. The demagnetizing coil and the permanent magnet of the rotor generate magnetic flux in an opposite direction.
