PURPOSE: A catalyst composition for producing a carbon nanotube is provided to produce a highly purified carbon nanotube material with a yield 3~5 times higher in 30 minutes of synthesis time. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst composition for producing a carbon nanotube is marked with an equation: [CoxVyM1z]pM2q. In the equation, Co, V, and M1 refer to catalyst active metal materials, their oxides, and their derivatives. The M1 is a transition metal selected from Al, Fe, Ni, W, Cr, Mn, Sn, Cu, Y, Zr, Ti, Mo, or Si. M2 is Mg, Si, their oxide, or its derivative.
