FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: for forecasting postoperative thromboembolic complications of arthroplasty in a patient erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), number of erythrocytes (NE), hematocrit (Htc), value of ethanol test (ET) at preoperative phase are defined. Then value of the canonical variate is calculated on the formula: CV = 11.412-0.108ESR-0.556Htc+3.453NE-0.963ET. If the canonical value is more than 0.138 embolic complications in preoperative phase are predicted, if it is less than 0.138 - their absence are predicted. ^ EFFECT: method enables to improve accuracy and availability of prediction of postoperative thromboembolic complications of arthroplasty in patients over 45 years with degenerative-dystrophic lesions of hip joint at preoperative phase. ^ 2 ex
