PURPOSE: A micro-shape cutting apparatus and method are provided to rapidly control the cutting depth of a cutting tool by using a piezoelectric element laminate comprising a plurality of piezoelectric elements as a reciprocating stage. CONSTITUTION: A micro-shape cutting method comprises the steps of: inputting the target shape and transfer speed for cutting the surface of a work piece(W), analyzing the frequency of the target locus of a cutting tool(8) determined based on the inputted target shape and transfer speed, determining a machining condition from the analysis result, composing machining program according to the determined machining condition, and performing machining according to the composed machining program.
