PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article wherein a body fluid which has come into contact with a compressed groove is prevented from spreading to the edge of the compressed groove, and deformation of the absorbent article due to contact with the body fluid is prevented. SOLUTION: The absorbent article comprises at least a fluid-permeable sheet, a fluid-impermeable sheet, and an absorber which is sandwiched between the fluid-permeable sheet and the fluid-impermeable sheet; and a pair of compressed grooves which integrate from the fluid-permeable sheet through the absorber are formed on the skin contact surface side of the absorbent article along the length direction. In the absorbent article, the compressed groove is comprised of a high-compression section and a low-compression section; the high-compression section is composed of quasi-traversing high-compression sections, which are formed to almost run across the compression groove in the width direction and disposed at a distance from each other in the length direction of the compressed groove, and non-traversing high-compression sections, which are formed not to run across the compressed groove and disposed at a distance from each other between the quasi-traversing high-compression sections; and the low-compression section is formed so as to continue in the length direction of the compressed groove between the quasi-traversing high-compression sections due to the arrangement of the non-traversing high-compression sections.
