<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus for eliminating the necessity of a complicated operation and solving the problem that an ultrasonic image is not easily viewed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: a display means 1 for displaying an ultrasonic diagnostic image; a display and reception means 2 for segmenting and displaying at least a part of the image displayed in the display means, and receiving the indication of a measurement area and prescribed measurement method with respect to the displayed image; a command analyzing means 4 for determining the kind of a command received from the display and reception means; an area establishing means 6 for determining the display area of the ultrasonic diagnostic image to be displayed in the display and reception means; a zoom establishing means 5 for reducing or magnifying the ultrasonic diagnostic image to be displayed in the display and reception means; a graphic display means 7 for displaying graphic information for measurement in the display means and the display and reception means; and a measurement result calculating means 8 for calculating a measurement result, based on the measurement area and measurement method received from the display and reception means.
