The method involves providing electricity to a pipeline (10) for heating the pipeline. Electrically operated measuring devices decentralized at the pipeline are used, and supply energy for the measuring devices is diverged from the electricity provided to the pipeline. Measuring signals are transferred through a power line that is designed as a power supply cable (13) for resistive heating of the pipeline. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for measuring a state variable of a pipeline.
