FILM, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, POLARIZER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for reducing the occurrence of display irregularity seen obliquely when it is used in a liquid crystal display device.

SOLUTION: This film contains thermoplastic resin, and the distribution of the slow axis direction of γ expressed by γ=¾Re[+40°]-Re[-40°]¾ is 0% to 10.5%. Here, Re[+40°] shows retardation of the in-plane direction at a wavelength of 550 nm measured from the direction 40° tilted to a tilt azimuth side to the film normal, and Re[-40°] shows retardation of the in-plane direction at a wavelength of 550 nm measured from the direction -40° tilted to the tilt azimuth side to the normal.
