PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized electric part in which a functional element having a mechanical protective portion is coated with a resin and a method of manufacturing the electric part. SOLUTION: This electric part includes: the functional element 12 having the mechanical protective portion formed in the main surface 11a of a substrate 11; a connection terminal 13 which is vertically installed on the main surface around the functional element 12 and electrically connects the functional element 12 to the outside; and the resin 14 which covers the outside of the functional element 12, allows the end 13a of the connection terminal 13 to be exposed, and has at least a part of the outer edge 14a extending to the area 15 which is further on the outside than the side surface 13b of the connection terminal 13 on the functional element 12 side and further on the inside than the outer edge 11b of the substrate 11.
