PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold leaf springs to be arranged inside a case without increasing a manufacturing cost by the expenditure of a mold. SOLUTION: A rotary electric component includes: the case 2; an operation member 4 which is rotatable with respect to the case 2 and has irregularities 404 on the outer periphery; the leaf springs 10 having engagement parts 1001 to be engaged/disengaged with/from the irregularities 404 with the rotation of the operation member 4, and a pair of arms 1002a, 1002b arranged on both sides of each engagement part 1001; and a rotation detection means for detecting the rotary action of the operation member 4. In the case 2, the arms 1002a, 1002b are held between first and second support parts arranged at positions not mutually opposed on one surfaces and the other surfaces of the leaf springs 10.
