<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment which has a common I/F for headphones for analog signals and optical digital signals, and can supply electric power to the optical digital headphones. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment includes a jack circuit which has one output jack with a quadrupole terminal and supplies analog or optical digital signals to a plug inserted into an output jack, a first terminal connected to an analog signal ground, a second terminal connected to a power supply circuit, a third terminal connected to a right analog signal channel, a fourth terminal connected selectively to a left analog signal channel or an optical digital signal plug ground, a switch circuit for changing the connection destination of the fourth terminal between the left analog signal channel and ground, and a control unit which makes the power supply circuit start supplying electric power and also switches the switch circuit to the ground side when a plug for optical digital signals formed of predetermined four electrodes is inserted into the output jack.
