<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving rolling resistance, in the pneumatic tire having a belt reinforcing layer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire includes the belt reinforcing layer 8 of spirally winding an organic fiber cord of setting tensile strength less than 400 N and setting an elastic modulus to 70 GPa or less, in the tire peripheral direction on the outer peripheral side of a belt layer 7. The belt reinforcing layer 8 is arranged only in an area Z1 between positions separate by 0.1-0.4 time of a width W of a belt layer 7X wider in the width, respectively on both right-left sides from a tire equatorial surface TE. Initial strain of the organic fiber cord of the belt reinforcing layer 8 falls within a range of -1.5 to 1.5% in an area Z2 between positions separate by at least 0.1 time of the width W of the belt layer 7X wider in the width, respectively on both right-left sides from the tire equatorial surface TE.
