<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel shutoff valve capable of smoothly performing an elevating and lowering operation of a float. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This fuel shutoff valve 10 includes a casing 20 having a valve chest 30S, and a float mechanism 50 having the float 51 stored in the valve chest 30S to elevate and lower according to a fuel level in a fuel tank FT and a valve part provided in an upper part of the float 51. In a side wall part 32 of the casing 20, a ventilation hole 32b for connecting the fuel tank FT and the valve chest 30S is included. In an outer peripheral part of the float 51, a recessed part 54 for elevation is formed oppositely to the ventilation hole 32b.
