A smoking article (40) comprising a filter core (20), a wrapper (22) surrounding the filter core, a first group (32) of ventilation holes and a second group (34) of ventilation holes positioned closer to a mouth end of the smoking article than the first group of ventilation holes, wherein at least the first group of ventilation holes extend through the wrapper into the core.
