797,106. Anchor-bolts &c. JARUND, H. S. V. Dec. 5, 1955, No. 34743/55. Class 89(1) A method of anchoring a bolt or the like in a bore, e.g. in an underground tunnel, comprises inserting valve-means 2, Fig. 7, in the mouth of the bore, injecting a viscous casting-compound, e.g. concrete, through said valve and into the bore, and then pushing the bolt 17, Fig. 10, through the valve and into the compound. The injection may be effected by a piston-and-cyliinder-device 8, 7, Fig. 8, which displaces the closure-flaps 10 of the valve, the flaps closing, when the device is removed, to retain the compound in the bore, and finally being displaced again by the bolt. An air-vent 3 passes between the bore-wall and the valve-means to a position adjacent the bottom of the bore, and may be removed after applying the bolt. The valve-means is made from resilient sheet-material, e.g. steel, has prongs 12, Fig. 4, to engage the bore-wall and is adjustable to suit a range of bore-sizes. |
