PURPOSE: A wholly aromatic liquid crystalline polyester resin is provided to reduce molecular weight and viscosity and to improve workability. CONSTITUTION: A wholly aromatic liquid crystalline resin comprises: a repeat unit selected from a group consisting a repeat unit derived from aromatic diol, repeat unit derived from aromatic diamine, repeat unit derived from aromatic hydroxylamine; 1.01-1.05 mole of repeat unit derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acid. The polyester resin contains at least one repeat unit among a repeat unit derived from aromatic hydroxyl carboxylic acid and a repeat unit derived from aromatic amino carboxylic acid.
