METHOD AND AUXILIARY DEVICES FOR PRODUCING FOAMED GLASS

The invention relates to a method and to the auxiliary device required for producing foam glass, in particular for producing foam glass plates. The method is characterized by a plurality of steps. In a first step the raw mixture (1) is applied from a mixing container (2) via an application device (3) onto a glass fiber band (4) in the form of segments (5). The glass fiber band (4) is on a link chain. The application height is adjusted by means of a wiper (6). In a second step, the segments (5) on the glass fiber belt (4) pass through the expansion oven (7) having different heating zones (8). In a third step, pre-cooling takes place at the end of the expansion oven (7). The externally hardened segments (5) are tipped onto a transverse carriage (10) and fed into a cooling oven (11). Particular auxiliary devices are an application device (3), a particular expansion oven (7), and a device for transporting foam glass blocks in the production of foam glass. The area of application of the invention is the production of foam glass plates.
