<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display apparatus and a control method thereof, in which one of contact and non-contact sensors is mounted onto eyeglasses that a user wears for viewing a three-dimensional (3D) image and one of two-dimensional (2D) and 3D images is automatically selected according to whether the user wears the glasses. <P>SOLUTION: The control method of a stereoscopic image display apparatus which is constituted of stereoscopic glasses and an image information playback device, includes the steps of: sensing whether or not a user wears the stereoscopic glasses; and generating one of 2D and 3D images in the image information playback device according to whether the user wears the stereoscopic glasses, wherein the stereoscopic glasses and the image information playback device perform bi-directional communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
