<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which automatically performs setting work by only reading an original image embedding setting information of the device, and improves work efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A test sheet embedding the setting information of the device beforehand as an invisible image, is set to an original reading unit 3, reading the original image of the test sheet is performed, and a control unit 2 temporarily stores the original image in a memory unit 4. An image processing unit 5 extracts the setting information embedded in the original image 10 of the memory unit 4.
