<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of a film estimating whether the film included in a polarizing plate is ruptured or not, in a laminating device of the polarizing plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This method includes a measuring process for measuring a fracture toughness value of the film, and an evaluation process for evaluating film rupture based on the fracture toughness value measured in the measuring process. In the measuring process, the fracture toughness value of the film is measured, in a test condition wherein test speed is 100 mm/min, the shape of a test piece is 10 mm×50 mm, and a notch length in the test piece is 1 mm. In the evaluation process, when the fracture toughness value is 0.6 or higher, the film is estimated not to be ruptured during conveyance of the film in the laminating device 10 of the polarizing plate.
