PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinylidene fluoride-based resin monofilament which is hardly curled and has an excellent tensile strength, and to provide a fishing line. SOLUTION: The vinylidene fluoride-based resin monofilament produced by melt-spinning a vinylidene fluoride-based resin having a melt flow rate (230°C, 10 kg) of 1.5 to 3.5 g/10 min and a molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn of 2.0 to 3.0, has a dry tensile strength of 650 to 1,000 MPa and a bending recovery rate of not less than 79%.
