PURPOSE: A system and a method for updating a card reader by using a smart card are provided to easily update a program of a card terminal by recording a program on a card terminal through a smart card which stores an updating program for a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A smart card(140) stores a terminal update program at an internal memory section and transfers unique smart card information to a terminal(120). The unique smart card information includes a check code which indicates a program update smart card. The terminal confirms the confirmation code to download and install the terminal update program at a memory from the smart card. |
