摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce luminance unevenness of a screen based on a plurality of light sources, and to achieve a thin display, in a surface light source device, a backlight unit with the light source device and a display which are provided with the surface light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source device includes: a plurality of light sources 11; a plate-like light diffusion element 12 diffusing light from the light sources; and one or more film-like light equalization elements 13 flatwise equalizing light luminance diffused by the light diffusion element. With the light equalization elements 13, n sheets are arranged so that a first light equalization element, a second equalization element, ..., and an n-th light equalization element are arrayed sequentially from the light source side. The light diffusion element 12 is formed by a transparent substrate positioned on the light source side and a fine irregular shape provided on the surface of the transparent substrate, the surface being positioned on the reverse side with respect to the light sources. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
