<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blade from being rotated due to an accidental increase of engine speed during idle operation, for enhancing the safety. <P>SOLUTION: In a work apparatus, a throttle valve 10 is in a first idling position in an engine start period. The engine 2 at its initial run phase does not increase in engine revolving speed because of instability of its running condition. When the running condition begins to stabilize, the revolving speed rapidly increases. When the engine revolving speed (Ne) reaches 4,000 rpm or higher, a misfire control mode is set up. In the misfire control mode, when the engine revolving speed reaches or exceeds 4,500 rpm, misfire processing is executed (S4). A centrifugal clutch 6 is set to engaged at 5,000 rpm.
