PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for facilitating current interruption in an electrical circuit. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a current sensing device 10 producing an output signal representative of a load current passing therethrough, a detection unit 30 performing signal communication with the current sensing device 10 to receive the output signal by the current sensing unit 10, the detection unit 30 being configured and disposed to output a secondary signal based on the output signal, and a microcontroller 80 which is connected to the detection unit 30, and responds to a computer executable instruction. The computer executable instruction, when executed by the microcontroller 80, serves as an instruction which drives the microcontroller 80 so as to receive and decompose the secondary signal into detailed and approximate coefficients, and generate a trip signal for use in interrupting an operation of the electrical circuit when a current of the sensed load is above a predetermined threshold and the detailed and approximate coefficients indicate that threshold conditions for trip signal generation are satisfied.
