<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein, in an automatic analyzer including a stirring mechanism for stirring liquid by inserting a stirring rod from an opening part, when the stirring rod is pulled up from liquid to be stirred with liquid adhering thereto, analysis accuracy is lowered, and device reliability may be spoiled by scattering of liquid from the stirring rod. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Pulling-up speed when pulling up the stirring rod from the liquid to be stirred is furthermore heightened after separation in comparison with the case where the stirring rod is in contact with the liquid to be stirred, to thereby reduce a liquid quantity adhering to the stirring rod, and to contribute to improvement of the analysis accuracy.
