<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nurse call system capable of executing the communication with a patient as a substitute for a nurse by mounting an artificial intelligence part in a nurse call slave unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The nurse call system includes the nurse call slave unit 1 set in a sickroom for a patient to call a nurse; a nurse call master unit 3 set in a nurses' station for announcing the call from the nurse call slave unit for the response; and a control machine 2 for controlling the system. The nurse call master unit has a display part 308 for displaying patient information. The nurse call slave unit has the artificial intelligence part which recognizes spoken words of the patient for the communication with the patient in place of the nurse. The nurse call master unit includes a storage part 306 for storing the conversation between the patient and the artificial intelligence part together with time stamps, and a recording/reproducing part 305 for the nurse to reproduce the recorded conversation for confirmation afterwards.
