PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and practical method for manufacturing a magnetic storage medium of a bit-patterned type or the like, and to provide the magnetic storage medium of that type which can be manufactured by the simple and practical method and an information storage device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk manufacturing method performs a film forming process (A) for forming a magnetic film 62 on a glass substrate 61 so that its Curie temperature may be 600 K or lower, and an ion implantation process (C) for locally implanting ion into the area of the magnetic film 62 other than a protection area.
