PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toy building block which, while these blocks can be attached to other blocks with reduced force, offers the secured interlocking capability considering especially the rotational play of the blocks. SOLUTION: A toy building block for stacking is provided on top with one or more studs and in the bottom with recesses. The studs show a gear-like cross-section with rounded teeth tips 12 and rounded grooves 10 between the teeth 12 as well. The recesses are provided each with a number of vertically extending lands 14 matching in shape with the grooves 10. The studs easily slide in and out of the recesses, yet a rotational suppression of low play is obtained. Preferably, the building blocks are produced by a blowing process and may be provided with screws for a safe interconnection.
