<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of reducing wrinkles or image defects that may occur in the event of irregular contact or collision of a recording medium with a transferred unfixed image to a guide member for guiding the recording medium to a nip part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes the guide member for guiding the recording medium with the transferred unfixed image to be conveyed to the paper feed side of a fixing nip part to the nip part and has a collision buffering means which supplies air flow between the guide member and the recording medium.
