<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiblade centrifugal fan and a vehicle air conditioner in which low frequency noise due to backward air flow in a region over to a winding end of a scroll casing is reduced, and even generation of the noise under development, if any, can be treated with minimum modification of a metal die or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The multiblade centrifugal fan 1 is rotatably provided with an impeller 15 having a number of blades 18 in the scroll casing 2. The scroll casing 2 includes an axially expanded part 23 forming an airflow path 22A axially expanded to a radial outer side of an annular flange 8 in a lower side face 10 of the scroll casing 2, supporting the impeller 15, and a projection 24 projecting from a radial inner side toward the radial outer side in an upstream region of the winding end 13 of the scroll casing 2 in the axially expanded part 23.
