PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated small-size and high-performance drive circuit by enhancing a current drive capability of an element at an output stage of the drive circuit of a semiconductor insulated gate type switching element for power conversion to reduce the circuit size, and a small-size and high-performance power converter using the drive circuit. SOLUTION: A drive circuit for controlling on-off operation of a main semiconductor switching element of an insulated gate type uses a bipolar semiconductor element of an insulated gate control type, particularly an IGBT, at an output stage of a circuit for controlling a gate voltage of the main semiconductor switching element.
