PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which can control the gap of a linear motor, using a simple constitution and which can be applied, even when a plurality of stators are arrayed in a discontinuous fashion. SOLUTION: In the linear motor which includes a stator and a movable element arranged so as to be movable relative to the stator via a gap, the gap is regulated by a non-magnetic plate, attached to either one of the stator or the moveable element.
