PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic wave measuring system and a seismic wave measuring method capable of measuring a seismic wave in a non-self-supporting hole easy to collapse or in a borehole where blowout of ground water or the like is anticipated. SOLUTION: This system includes: a cable rod to be inserted into the borehole; a cable connector to be mounted on the tip of the cable rod; a measuring cable communicated with a measuring device on the tip part of the borehole; a cable storage pipe mounted on the tip part of the cable connector, and storing the measuring device and the measuring cable, with outer circumferential part in the underground fixed state; a cable cutter for cutting the measuring cable by a rotational motion when screwing with the cable connector is loosened; a casing for storing inside the cable, the cable rod, the cable connector, the measuring cable and the cable storage pipe, and protecting a borehole wall; and a casing sealing plug mounted on the inlet side of the casing, for blocking a blowout material from inside the casing.
